appearance
cassian will mostly appear as he is now, albeit a little more unkempt. he keeps a beard that is varying shades of tidy and prefers to wear clothes that allow him to blend easily into crowds and shadows (e.g. cloaks, mildly steampunk, desert wear clothing). he tends to leave dust in his wake even though he (usually) doesn't have any dirt or dust on him. as he gives parts of himself away in this human form, parts of him will disappear replaced by stardust, swirling and dancing in place of where his limbs should be.
his god form is something he rarely dons. when he does his human form burns off of him from the inside out until his godly form emerges. he stands 15ft tall and is a bright blue supernova being with no features save for a glowing eye in the centre of his face. swirling cosmos and stars are born and die inside of him. has been known to turn a dark, angry red where his features become more defined when his powers become unchecked (often because he hasn't used them in a while) or because of high emotional states. standing near him in this state is near unbearable because of the heat he radiates. it is incredibly difficult to reason with him like this.

the omen with (star)dust in her hair; once upon a time there was a pair of siblings that lived amongst the stars, traveling from planet to planet. they were two halves of a whole, each pulling the other in a perpetual cycle of flight and grounding, joy and sobering somberness. they were always together until they landed on abraxas and it was from that point onwards that they were rarely seen together. the omen dances through the earth looking for pieces of her brother to pull him back together, and when he finally returns and is whole, she departs into space to dance among the stars until she hears word of her brother's disappearance. they so rarely share a physical plane - until now.
in times of rebellion it is said that el povo will appear, large and imposing, brilliant in his rage like a supernova in order to give and give to those fighting to right an injustice. as he gives he grows smaller and parts of him will disappear until he turns back into the dust from whence he came. he's blown into the wind and the sky, gone but never really gone. he nestles under nail beds, in people's hair, lingers in the corner of homes waiting, listening, biding his time under the day that those causing injustices realize he's in their eyes and in their lungs suffocating them from the inside out.
any time he returns and manifests from the dust (butt naked, someone clothe him please) there's often large gaps in his memory; the only thing he can always clearly remember is his name and his sister. cassian wanders abraxas in search of his sister and to satiate the gnawing hunger in the pit of his stomach. while he eventually gains his (au) memories back over time and by meeting other gods that are touchstones in his life, he will never be able to satisfy his hunger or thirst because he doesn't remember his past life; kerri, ferrix, his galaxy are all wiped from his mind. unbeknownst to him this is part of the hunger he feels.

☄️ PRE - 500 YEARS AGO
- cassian largely doesn't recall his abraxas life. he only remembers the echo of bonds forged. he participated in the nott rebellion, staying in the shadows and keeping out of sight but dirtying his hands so others didn't have to.
- cassian aids jill in trying to destroy the Singularity and winds up becoming collateral damage as a result of her fight with kyle. clive intervenes but it causes cassian to siphon the grief he feels for his departed brother, creating a catalyst for clive's rampage
- unable to control his powers and without memories to tether him he wandered, finding anything and everything in an attempt to satiate the gnawing hole in his stomach. the only thing that seemed to make him feel full, at last for little while was absorbing the powers and emotions of others to the point where he drained them completely. it wouldn't have been so bad had it only been those that caused injustices - but plenty of innocents crossed his path too. in his blinding hunger he could make no differentiation. it was around this time that legends of el povo began to emerge as a figure that would devour anything in his path without thought or care.
- thancred comes to put him in his place and try to talk some sense into him; results vary
- cassian ends up turning to dust and doesn't reemerge from some time unless it's to help pacify and help his sister, River
- cassian undustbins himself with no memory of the destruction he'd caused. he only remembers his name and River
- he wanders Abraxas until he encounters geralt, kyle, jack, sylvain and yennefer; they each him help in their own ways to either hone his powers or satiate his hunger
- hen the reality of the innocent blood on his hand set in, he become a recluse from the other Summoned and mortals choosing to keep to himself, never touching anyone or anything for fear of taking too much. so he never took, always gave and tried to find other ways to stave off the hunger pains and loneliness that rooted in his heart. centuries passed until he was able to learn how to control his powers thus extending his time on this plane.

- as the years have gone by the act of giving has made him weary. each manifestation brings a dogged determination to return to rest, to find reprieve from the hunger. but if there is one thing that will always ring true it is that he will always rise to help those in need - even if it means giving all of himself.
